Take a Cruise

Make your own history aboard one of our cruises.

Sailing aboard Providence is a memorable experience! All cruises are approximately two hours long. To ensure timely departure, for cruises scheduled in the evenings, all guests must check in at the Visitor Center between 5:30 and 5:45.  For Saturday morning Family Pirate Cruises all guests must check in at the Visitor Center between 8:30 and 8:45. For Sunday afternoon cruises all guests must check in at the Visitor Center between 2:30 and 2:45.

Any tickets that have not been checked in fifteen minutes before the cruise boards (i.e., 5:45, 8:45 or 2:45) will be considered “no-shows” and released for resale. No refunds will be issued.

Cruise tickets are released for sale approximately seven days before the scheduled cruise so that we can try to avoid weather-related cancellations. Please see below for details.

Our cruises will begin in April 2020. Subscribe to our newsletter below to receive occasional updates on when tour and cruise tickets will be available.

All guests must check in for their cruise at the Visitor Center 30 minutes before boarding begins.

Fifteen minutes before boarding begins, any guests who have not checked in will be considered “no shows” and their tickets will be released for resale. Refunds will not be issued.

Craft Beer Cruises

Craft Beer Cruises will be offered on alternating Friday and Saturday evenings. Enjoy cruising on the Potomac while learning about some of the region’s most interesting craft beers. A flight of three beers will be presented while a brewing expert explains how they’re brewed and what makes them unique. A complimentary beverage — water or soft drink — and a salty snack is included with your ticket. All ages are welcome, but only guests over 21 may consume alcohol.

Adult Pirate Cruises

Adult Pirate Cruises will be scheduled on occasional Saturday evenings. Get in the spirit of things by wearing pirate garb, listening to chanteys, and sampling rum! After setting sail, a tasting expert will share the history and differences among a selection of rums. Learn about the pirates of the Chesapeake and enjoy some swashbuckling music. All pirates must be 21 or older, and any weapons must be peace-tied and non-firing. Respectful behavior required.

Evening Cruises

Looking for a more serene option? Relax and enjoy an Evening Cruise on occasional Saturday evenings. Feel rejuvenated as you take in the scenery with a glass in hand and a friend by your side. Mellow music will play while wind and waves carry you away from everyday life. A selection of beverages will be available for purchase along with light snacks.

Family Pirate Cruises

Have children? Join us for the Family Pirate Cruise on Saturday mornings! Our crew will entertain your little buccaneers with songs, games, and a little cutlass training, too. This could come in handy if the children have to save the captain! Kids will walk away with a big smile and a small pile of treasure.
