About Us

Tall Ship Providence Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization providing a dynamic way of experiencing the maritime history of the American colonies during the Revolution.

Through ship visits, themed cruises, and special events, our visitors will be encouraged to put themselves into the shoes of colonists and crew members faced with threats to the freedom and safety of our waterways.

About Us

Living History

This 110' 12-gun sloop-of-war is an exact replica of the first warship in the Continental Navy. Her predecessor took over 40 British ships in the American Revolution.

Maritime Heritage

With the ship, our programs will enable the community, youth groups, and visitors to experience a fascinating history via tours, cruises, and events.

Months of Restoration

In order to bring The Providence to her new home in Old Town, she needs considerable work. This will be possible through generous capital contributions.
